Geosciences Honours College

UHRPs

“First hand experience the ins and outs of the scientific world.”

If you can’t wait to start doing scientific research and contributing to the scientific world, then the Undergraduate Honours Research Project (UHRP) might just be the thing for you! The goal of the UHRP is to gain firsthand experience doing scientific research. How this will come into play depends on you and on which department you are a member of.

For Earth Sciences this means being part of a research group of lecturer-researchers and PHD-candidates. You will be independently gathering and analyzing data and writing a report on your findings. These may or may not be incorporated into the PHD-candidate’s own project.

For Global Sustainability Science and Science & Innovation Management this means taking part in research group of lecturer-researchers and PHD-candidates within the Copernicus Insitute. Similarly, to Earth Sciences, you will be gathering and analyzing data and writing a report on your findings. These may or may not be incorporated into the PHD-candidate’s own project.

For Human Geography and Spatial Planning this means being part of a research group consisting of lecturer-researchers, PHD-candidates and master students within a broader national and international network. As an Honours student, you will be actively taking part in team meetings and contributing to the research project.
